Roxann Chalfant is a Georgia native, who lives in Toccoa. She is the second generation in a family of crafters -- her parents, Jean & Ted, make glass wind chimes. In college she decided to pursue an educaiton in art, much to her parents' chagrin. In 2006, she received a BFA with a specialization in Fabric Design from the University of Georgia.
After graduating, she returned to Toccoa and began working at the family business, Bottle Benders. During this time she migrated from fabrics to glass and found almost immediate success.
Two years later, Ms. Chalfant established Roxy Kay Designs. She specialized in vases, bowls, earrings, clocks, bracelets, pendants, night lights, lamps, and mirrors. Many of her pieces are made from recycled window glass and scrap art glass.
Roxy recently bought a house, and completely renovated it. Her family calls it the "Rainbow House" because every room is a bright, bold color. She now has her studio in the basement and is starting to feel like a real artist.
She lives with a very beautiful, talkative, and sometimes friendly green parrot named Pico and a lively, crazy looking dog names Kikko.
